About EMS

What is EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation)?

EMS stands for "Electrical Muscle Stimulation" and is a training method in which electrical impulses trigger targeted muscle contractions. EMS can effectively complement or replace traditional strength and endurance training and also reaches deeper-lying muscles.

What are the benefits of EMS training?

EMS training saves time, activates hard-to-reach muscles, improves circulation, boosts metabolism, reduces muscle soreness, promotes joint stability and supports both muscle building and fat burning.

How effective is EMS training?

Studies confirm the effectiveness of EMS. By simultaneously activating large muscle groups and up to 90% of muscle fibres, EMS training is extremely effective. A single 20-minute session can burn up to 500 kcal.

What do doctors say about EMS training?

Doctors use EMS in therapy to rebuild muscle after operations or injuries. The technology reaches deep into the supporting musculature and delivers results, particularly with back pain.

Who should not do EMS training?

EMS training is not recommended during pregnancy or for people with pacemakers, epilepsy, active cancer, recent operations or acute inflammation or injuries. If in doubt, please consult a doctor.

Can EMS training be harmful?

If contraindications exist or it is used incorrectly, EMS training can be harmful. However, when the safety instructions are followed and it is used correctly, EMS training is safe and highly effective.

How do I choose the right size for my EMS suit?

Use the table in the product description in the shop to choose the right size. The suit is stretchy, so a few centimetres of deviation are not a problem. The suit should fit snugly while still allowing free movement. If you have broad shoulders and a narrow waist, order based on your chest measurement.

If the suit doesn't fit at all, you can exchange it free of charge for the right size. We cover the shipping costs for both delivery and return.

What can I do if the suit doesn't fit?

If the suit doesn't fit, you can exchange it free of charge for the right size. We cover the shipping costs for both delivery and return.

Which payment methods are available?

We accept all common credit cards, TWINT and bank transfer in advance. Instalment payments are also possible. In the shop, you can choose up to 12 instalments at no extra cost. Business customers can order on invoice.

How long is the warranty?

We offer a 24-month warranty on the suit and the PowerBox, plus a 6-month warranty on the battery. The battery is replaceable and can be exchanged for CHF 45 including shipping. Business customers receive a 1-year warranty.

Do I need to buy a second system if my partner wants to train too?

No, you only need an additional suit that is compatible with your existing PowerBox:

  • Pants PowerBox – compatible with EMS Pants and EMS Vest
  • Home PowerBox – compatible with EMS Pants, EMS Vest and the EMS Home suit
  • Pro PowerBox – compatible with the EMS Pro, EMS Home, EMS Vest and EMS Pants suits

How can I check whether the app works with my phone?

You can download and test the free eaglefit app before you buy. The app is available in the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

Can I return the EMS suit?

As this is a hygiene product, returning it after use is difficult. However, if the packaging is unopened, you can return the system within 14 days. If you would like to try EMS first, we recommend a trial session at one of our partners.

Suit

Do I need to wet the suit?

No, the eaglefit EMS suit is a dry suit. The electrodes sit directly on the skin and transmit the impulses over a large area without any need for additional moisture. A slightly damp film of skin, e.g. from 5–10 minutes of warming up, is entirely sufficient. For very dry skin or heavy body hair, an electrode gel can be helpful.

Do I need to wear underwear under the suit during training?

No, we recommend not wearing any underwear under the EMS suit. The electrical impulses need direct skin contact to stimulate the muscles effectively. Underwear could trap moisture and encourage skin irritation.

Can I wear the EMS suit under sportswear?

Yes, you can easily wear sportswear over the suit. This does not affect how the EMS training works. A tracksuit is ideal for this.

How can I clean the suit?

Only wash the suit when needed, on a delicate cycle at a maximum of 30°C in the supplied laundry bag and without spinning (e.g. DENNA+ Wash). To extend its lifespan, we recommend hand washing. Alternatively, you can use a special cleaning spray to avoid frequent washing.

Is there a difference between eaglefit's EMS suits and the ones used in studios?

No, the intensity of our EMS suits is no different to studio suits. You can train as often as you like, with no technical limitations. Our suits are also used in studios.

Does the suit restrict my range of movement?

No, the suit is wafer-thin and elastic. You are completely free to move during training and you'll barely feel it.

How long does the suit last?

With proper use, the EMS suit lasts on average 3 to 4 years. Thanks to the antibacterial finish, you don't have to wash it after every workout.

What should I do if an electrode doesn't work?

Work through the following steps:

  • Install the latest version of the eaglefit app.
  • Warm up: your skin should be slightly damp.
  • Check: is the suit fitting tightly enough?
  • Check: is the PowerBox attached correctly?
  • Check: are the electrodes activated in the app?

Test the electrode: compare it with working electrodes (e.g. the gluteal area). If you feel current, the electrode is working. Otherwise, contact our support team with a description of the issue.

PowerBox

How long does the battery last?

The PowerBox battery lasts for at least 10 training sessions of 20 minutes each, depending on training intensity. As it uses a 2,000 mAh Li-ion battery, you can easily recharge it between sessions without damaging it.

What do the different LED colours mean?

The LED colours on the PowerBox show its current status:

  • Green: the PowerBox is fully charged (100%).
  • Blue: the PowerBox is switched on.
  • Blue/turquoise flashing alternately: the PowerBox is connected to the app.
  • Blue/turquoise flashing quickly: the workout is in progress.

App

No connection to the PowerBox?

Work through the following steps if you cannot connect to the PowerBox:

  1. Fully charge the PowerBox until the LED lights up green.
  2. Restart your phone:
    • iPhone: Settings > General > Shut Down.
    • Android: press and hold the power button and volume-up button for 10 seconds.
  3. Uninstall the eaglefit app and reinstall the latest version from the App Store or Play Store.
  4. Reset the PowerBox: use a paperclip to press into the small hole next to the charging socket for 10 seconds.
  5. Connect your phone as described on page 12 of the manual. You'll find the digital version here.
  6. Test whether the connection works on a different phone or tablet.
  7. Contact our support team and confirm that you have followed all the steps.

PowerBox glows red and the app says "Device locked"?

Quickly tap the padlock icon in the app at least 12 times until it disappears and the device is unlocked.

Is the app free?

Yes, the eaglefit app is completely free. You can download it any time from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. No subscription is required.

Training

How often can I do EMS training?

Technically, there is no limit to how often you can train. If you are new to EMS training or have had a break, start with one session per week for around 10 weeks. This allows your kidneys to adjust to the higher CK levels in the blood. After that, you can increase to 2 or a maximum of 3 sessions per week, with 48 hours' rest between each one. The relaxation programme can be used daily, as it runs at low intensity.

Which frequencies and pulse depths can I set for my EMS training?

In the "Individual" training menu, you can set frequencies from 1 to 120 Hz and pulse depths of up to 400 microseconds. Up to around 30 Hz, the red muscle fibres (endurance) are primarily engaged; from around 80 Hz, the white muscle fibres (maximum strength) are activated. The higher the pulse depth, the more deeply the stimulus penetrates the muscle. For beginners, there are predefined programmes such as "Fitness/Workout", "Relax" and "Metabolism".

What does EMS achieve without exercise?

EMS impulses on their own stimulate the muscles and create a training stimulus. Once an adaptation threshold has been reached, you should add further exercises in order to make additional progress. Active training provides extra benefits for joints, tendons and ligaments that EMS alone does not cover.

Can I lose belly fat with EMS training?

Targeted fat loss in a specific area isn't possible. To lose belly fat, you need to reduce your overall body fat percentage. EMS training supports this process through high energy expenditure and muscle building. However, an adapted diet remains essential for effective weight loss.

Does the EMS suit help with building muscle or losing fat?

Yes, the EMS suit supports both muscle building and fat loss. For best results, you should incorporate both dynamic and static exercises into your training. A balanced diet is also key to long-term success.

Can I use the suit to build muscle after rehab, even with limited mobility?

Yes, EMS training is excellent for building muscle after an operation or during rehabilitation, as it is gentle on the joints. While the eaglefit EMS suit is not a medical product, it can be used effectively in consultation with your doctor.

Can I also improve my fitness for a triathlon with the suit?

Yes, you can specifically train your red skeletal muscle (endurance) and white skeletal muscle (maximum strength). Frequencies up to 30 Hz promote endurance, while 50 to 85 Hz improve your maximum strength. EMS training is an ideal supplement when preparing for a triathlon.
